Long-term studies of box turtles are relatively rare and very valuable in understanding the life history of such long-lived animals. I began collecting data on the Ornate Box Turtle, Terrapene ornata, on east side of the Huachuca Mountains in 1996 and worked on the site until 2009. This year I returned to the study site after a 17-year break to answer questions about longevity, survival, habitat, population monitoring, and follow-up on some observations from the first 14-years. I will report preliminary data on these topics.
